DECAFLUX
INTRODUCTION:
Products for Melt Treatment of Aluminium and Aluminium Alloys are as follows:
- Degasser.
- Grain Refiner (Nucleant).
- Derefiner.
- Coveral Flux 11S.
- Drossing Flux 5.
DEGASSER:
INTRODUCTION:
Degasser in the melt releases the hydrogen trapped in liquid aluminum melt. A low hydrogen content in the melt reduces gas porosity in the casting
WORKING:
- Degasser removes dissolved hydrogen from the melt.
- It reduce gas porosity.
- It improves pressure-tightness of casting.
- It removes oxides and non-metallic inclusion.
- It improves Mechanical properties.
- It avoids distortion during heat treatment (specially of HPDC casting).
- It controls addition or removal of hydrogen from the melt (N2-H2 pre mixed gas).
PHYSICAL PROPERTIES:
- Colour – Blue.
- Appearance – Tablet.
STANDARD PACKING:
It is available in the form of 50 gram tablets and 500 gram tablets.
GRAIN REFINER:
INTRODUCTION:
Grain Refiner improves Mechanical Properties of casting, Such as Elongation.
WORKING:
- Grain Refiner effects in-situ formation of nuclei, such as TiB2, in the melt.
- It effect in-situ nuclei are very active, effective and well distributed throughout the melt.
- Fine grain structure improves the solidified structure and reduces shrinkage porosity.
PHYSICAL PROPERTIES:
- Colour – White.
- Appearance – Tablet.
STANDARD PACKING:
It is available in the form of 50 gram tablets and 500 gram tablets.
COVER FLUX 11S :
INTRODUCTION:
Aluminium in molten condition has higher affinity towards Hydrogen & Oxygen. Molten aluminium alloys rapidly forms an aluminium oxide (Dross) film whenever surface is freshly exposed to atmosphere. Excessive Formation of aluminium oxide (Dross) can be prevented by disturbing layer as little as possible which is difficult to maintain at Shop Floor. COVER FLUX 11 S forms a protective layer and the special exothermic properties of COVER FLUX 11 S reduces the Dross formation & loss of Metal through Dross. Covering fluxes protect the melt against oxidation and hydrogen pick up.The choice of flux is dependent upon the alloy, melt temperature, and furnace type.
WORKING:
- This fluxes are recommended for all alloys and casting procedures and processes.
- It is applied on the surface of molten aluminum where it melts forming a continuous layer protecting the liquid metal from oxidation and absorption of atmospheric hydrogen.
PHYSICAL PROPERTIES:
- Colour – Pink.
- Appearance – Powder.
STANDARD PACKING:
It is available in the form of 40 Kg Poly Bags.
DROSSING FLUX 5 :
INTRODUCTION:
Drossing flux is white colour powder made from Salts of Sodium, Potassium and Cryolite which provides dross with a low metal content and it is calcium free to avoid negative influence on the structure of casting. It removes oxides and other nonmetallic inclusions from aluminum melt. Crossing fluxes promote separation of molten aluminum entrapped in the dross.
WORKING:
- Aluminium in molten condition has higher affinity towards Hydrogen & Oxygen.
- Molten aluminium alloys rapidly forms an aluminium Oxide (Dross) film whenever surface is freshly exposed to atmosphere.
- Drossing flux is designed to prevent the formation of aluminium oxide.
- Being low temperature melting flux Drossing flux forms liquid layer of flux when added on preheated charge.
- The liquid layer of Drossing flux prevents the oxidation of aluminium.
PHYSICAL PROPERTIES:
- Colour – White.
- Appearance – Powder.
STANDARD PACKING:
It is available in the form of 40 Kg Poly Bags.
